American hip hop group
formed in the South Bronx of New York City in 1976.
Composed of one DJ (Grandmaster Flash)
and five rappers
(Melle Mel, The Kidd Creole, Keith Cowboy,
Mr. Ness/Scorpio, and Rahiem),
the group's use of turntablism, break-beat deejaying,
and conscious lyricism
were significant in the early development of hip hop music.
In 2007 they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

El funk es un género musical
nació entre mediados y finales de los años 1960
músicos principalmente afroamericanos fusionaron
soul, jazz, ritmos latinos… y R&B
dando lugar a una nueva forma musical rítmica y bailable.
El funk reduce el protagonismo de la melodía y de la armonía
y dota, a cambio, de mayor peso a la percusión
y a la línea de bajo eléctrico.
